Rumors on a possible GTS version of BMW 1 Series M Coupe

The official unveiling date of the smallest M ever created, the BMW 1 Series M Coupe, gets closer and closer. More exactly, on December 12th, the Germans from BMW will reveal the the M version of the 1 Series Coupe, with all the required specifications.

BMW 1 Series M Coupe already breaks a speed record

According to the people at Skiddmark, the earlier revealed BMW 1 Series M Coupe manages to obtain a great lap time around the Nurburgring Nordschleife overcoming even few more potent rival models. The smallest M ever achieved an 8:12 lap time around the famous Nurburgring Nordschleife. For those you don’t know, the little 1 Series.

BMW has released another teaser video of the 1-Series M Coupe. Earlier this month BMW had released a cockpit video of the 1-Series M Coupe driving around the Ascari race track in Spain. It was reported that the car will be unveiled in December, before its world premiere at the 2011 North American International Auto Show.

Features that we can clearly make out from the latest video are the new wheels with that typical BBS-like design, quad exhaust tailpipes typical of modern BMW M cars, and of course the car also gets its own M styling.

BMW has just released the first photos and details of the 2011 BMW M3 Performance Package which was rumored back in January. The 2011 BMW M3 Performance Package can be applied from the beginning to the coupe and convertible versions of the performance car.

The 2011 BMW M3 Performance Package includes a 10 mm lower suspension, 19 inch rims, a newly developed electronic damper adjustment function EDC and a new aerodynamics kit.The 2011 BMW M3 Performance Package price will be announced at a later date, but the company did mention it will become available this spring.

The BMW M3 is a high-performance version of the BMW 3 Series, developed by BMW’s branch BMW M. M3 models have been derived from the E30, E36, E46 and E90/E92/E93 3-series, and sold with coupé, sedan and convertible body styles. Common upgrades over the “standard” 3-Series automobiles include more powerful and responsive (yet at times smaller) engines, improved handling/suspension/braking systems, more aggressive aerodynamics/body, and multiple interior/exterior accents with the famed tri-color “M” (Motorsport) emblem.
